I was honored to be invited to teach the Osteocool Procedure to a group of physicians around the country. This was a weekend of education for others as well as for myself. I always enjoy the opportunity to learn from others. Both clinically as well as their different practices. Thank you to Medtronic for arranging all of this.

Osteocool is a procedure to treat painful cancer metastasis to the spine. This is a minimally invasive technique to enter the vertebrae and “microwave” cancer cells to relieve pain. After this radiofrequency ablation procedure, a kyphoplasty is performed. This is a procedure where a balloon is expanded to fix a collapsed backbone and fill with cement to stabilize it for the future.
